PSYCHOLOGY ZEN FREEDOM

Click the book that waves and sings to you

I’m having such creative fun.  Giving you the most valuable psychological concepts and strategies gathered over a lifetime.

Early in my career as a professor and psychotherapist I found directly experiencing them so much better than just reading about them.  They become an important part of your life.

Reading but not using psychology

is just like reading the ingredients

but never tasting the ice cream.

Many people find it valuable to write down what they experience.

Don’t rush.  Pause frequently to carefully notice and absorb what you are experiencing.  If you feel like doing something different than suggested, do it.

Book #1        Book #2        Book #3

Psychological adventures and nourishment

If your judgment, taste, sense of humor, and belief systems are similar to mine you will love the psychological adventures.  If not, explore them anyway and expand what you can think, feel, and become.  So much joy, creativity, and adventure.

Then flow knowledge and wisdom into your mind.  It is a wonderful storehouse. When needed it flows the most relevant knowledge and wisdom right back into your conscious awareness.  Unbelievably fast.

FRITZ PERL'S MAGIC CHAIR

The best of Fritz Perls

Pop out of your head into the Now.  The Now for you as you read this sentence.  The Now for me as I type it.  Being in the NOW reconnects you with reality and shakes you out of lifeless words and fantasy. Join the creative and adventurous.

Words, words, words! They shut one off from the universe. Three quarters of the time one's never in contact with things, only with the beastly words that stand for them.

Aldous Huxley

PROPAGANDA

Meta-Jump and throw the crap

right back in their faces.  HARD!

The best of Skinner and Pavlov

Meta-Jump and watch governments, politicians, and advertisers wash and stuff your brain.  Throw the crap right back at them.  Hard!  At least make them work a whole lot harder.

Then let Skinner and Pavlov show you how to make your life more joyful, creative, and adventurous.  Be sure and play around with your Power Pills---a nice combination of Pavlov’s classical conditioning and the placebo effect.

THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY

Bring back the joys and wonder

of your childhood

The best of Eric Berne

Dance like a flame across the mountainside

Sure you’re all grown up.  Done a good job of it and proved it by having the good sense to be reading this.  And you can have a good life playing Adult---thinking, feeling and acting correctly as a good Adult should.

But don’t overdo it.  You lose more and more of the freedom and magic of your Natural Child ---lose more and more opportunities for joy, creativity, and adventure in your life.

I was wise enough to never grow up

while fooling most people into believing I had.

REFRESH THE FLOW

Meta-Jump and free the flow

between your mind and conscious awareness

Free the flow back and forth between your mind and your conscious awareness.  Your life is determined by the ease and content of the flow.  No exaggeration, as you will soon discover.

I have noticed that some people feel uncomfortable, even upset, by the idea that they do not consciously control what flows into their conscious awareness.  Usually to them, that means they no longer control their life.

What flows into your conscious awareness is you, not some alien.  Since birth, you have worked hard filling your mind with an enormous amount of memories, emotions, associations, words, belief systems, etc.

WISE GUYS

PAVLOV  SKINNER  PERLS  BERNE

Meta-Jump rapidly among them

and discover your SELF

Raw experiences, not intellectual understanding is promoted.  For instance, the first chapter begins with an invitation to experience afresh the world with the wonder filled eyes, ears, nose and touch of a child.  You could try to remember what it was like, and analyze what you find.  Here, you go out the door and do it.

Alfred North Whitehead, in THE AIMS OF EDUCATION, believed that concepts and techniques come alive only when they are experienced.  Otherwise, they are like playing chess with words.  That can be very enjoyable, but doesn’t have a lot of relevance beyond itself.

BECOME AN EINSTEIN

Meta-Jump rapidly between them

and become an Einstein

The most beautiful and profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical.  It is the sower of all true science.

Albert Einstein

You’ll soon have your chance to combine your hard-headed scientist and wild-eyed mystic into a powerful gestalt.  Your chance to become an Einstein.

NUTMEG

Taken from her schizophrenic mother when very young.  Nutmeg has failed many foster homes and tried her best to get booted out of Children’s Garden.

Soon after she arrived, she fried the pet goldfish on the radiator.

Gonna whoop me good

and shove me out the door.

This book was so great to read and look at a foster child’s life from a parent and a child’s perspective!! I couldn’t put it down , it was heartbreaking and exhilarating at the same time Don’t miss this gem!

RAISED IN A WHOREHOUSE

Didn’t want that kind of life.

Jumped on a wagon train when only 15.

I found this handwritten diary at the bottom of an old trunk I bought at an auction in Walton, NY.  I made a few changes in punctuation and spelling.  Added paragraphing, chapters, and a few other little things.

I liked the humor…Indians and whorehouses and the characters were developed to make the story fun.  Also loved the old pictures.  A fun story and fast read.

BOOK 1        BOOK 2        BOOK 3

I don’t want to scare you away, but gotta be honest.  I’m playing around with a weird world right next to this one.  The old Egyptians called it the World of Shadow.  If you’re a little shaky inside, best pass on by.

And if you’re a wonderfully sensitive and refined lady or gentleman best pass on by.  Most of my lousy foster homes were in lousy neighborhoods.  I learned a lot of wonderful words wondering the streets, and got rid of prissy morality long ago.  You do what you gotta do.

Nice girls pointed and whispered as I walked by.  That bad, bad, girl in the dirty clothes.  Yeah.  Yeah.  All you nice, nice girls had it all just handed to you.
